Roller Derby to Roller Jam!
10 years ago Jerry Seltzer and famed Rolling Stone photographer Baron Wolman
published "From Roller Derby to RollerJam," the most complete account of the
original Roller Derby ever written. The book sold out immediately and was
never reprinted.
If you were to look for a brand new copy today, you would find very very few available on the web, with some listed at nearly $100 for a single book!
In 1935 Jerry's father, Leo Seltzer, invented Roller Derby in Chicago; Jerry continued to manage it through the end in 1973, when the League was finally closed down.
Great news! Squarebooks, the original publisher, has unearthed a number of brand new copies and we are offering them first to the women of today's Roller Derby who want to know everything about the history of the original game. The book also includes the fascinating tale of the subsequent ill-fated revival of RollerJam.
Use this book for members of your league, to re-sell at bouts, for fund raisers, or for any other purpose which you may find beneficial.
Of course, you don’t have to be a current skater to order one or more copies - for all fans everywhere of the original Roller Derby, this is a MUST HAVE book!
Pricing is as follows:
- $300 for an unopened full carton of 20 brand new, unsigned copies.
- $200 for a "half-carton" of 10 brand new, unsigned copies.
- $125 for 5 brand new, unsigned copies.
- $30 for a single brand new copy.
- $40 for a single, brand new autographed copy.
The original retail price for the book was $19.95, so if you buy a case for yourself and your friends, you each will pay less than original price.
